Hovercraft celebrations and School challenge

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Hovercraft, and to celebrate, schools are being invited to take part in a science and technology skills challenge to design, build and test their very own hovercraft to compete with other schools.

Celebrations will take place in Southampton UK, where Sir Christopher Cockerell first demonstrated the first commercial flight.

A number of events are planned, the Hovershow will take place at the Hovercraft Museum in Gosport, Hampshire on July 24th, 25th and 26th. See Hovercraft Museum Web-Site

School Resource for Hovercraft

Many schools have construction projects and clubs, and making Hovercraft is both fun, interesting and very educational.

Hovercraft School Visits

A number of schools have created their own hovercraft as part of club or science based projects, and have invited us to demonstrate the Hov Pod to their budding engineers. Many Hov Pod dealers have provided demonstrations to show what the Hov Pod is capable of. The Hov Pod can seat 3 adults, and flies at a height of 9 inches, at speeds of up to 50 mph.
